ABOUT

Mission Statement

The objective of DOBC shall be to provide an open environment by which to promote the art of dance amongst the Boston College community. The club offers a variety of studio classes in diverse styles and all levels. More advanced students can expand their talents through choreographing, auditioning, and performing in an annual show, while beginners are provided with the opportunity to learn and

gain experience through weekly classes.

DOBC is a two-pronged organization:

Each week DOBC offers studio classes taught by members of our performance group of varying styles. Classes are open to members of the BC community free of charge and are held each Monday and Wednesday in the Brighton campus dance studio (see our LOCATION tab for directions). Join our ListServ by emailing Director Emily Pudvah through our email, danceorgbc@gmail.com to receive

weekly studio class schedules!

Each September, DOBC holds an open audition for our performance group which performs pieces of varying styles of dance including jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap, contemporary, pointe, and hip hop. Conditionings and rehearsals are held throughout the fall semester in preparation for our annual show held early each spring. The focus of the remainder of the spring semester shifts toward both charitable performances as well as performing at various other events such as BC's Arts Fest and Dancing with bOp!
